My students tell me that their parents and grandparents don't understand why they're struggling so much. Let's understand how social policies set up a game that's impossible to win. When you internalize these messages you might end up believing that the reason you're having such a hard time is because you failed along the way. It hasn't been this hard for young people in a long time.
